Rogers DVS’ valuation team has extensive experience in conducting IP valuations. Our IP valuation experience includes valuations of patents, trademarks, trade secrets, know-how, copyrights, and combinations of the above to be included in a full technology portfolio.
Rogers DVS’ expertise in IP valuation rivals that of any other valuation firm. Our team holds both American and International valuation designations for its IP valuation expertise:
- ASA (Accredited Senior Appraiser, American Society of Appraisers)
- CVS (Certified Valuation Specialist, Royalty Institute of Chartered Surveyors)
How We Conduct IP Valuations
Rogers DVS’ professionals actively assist clients in assessing the value of their IP. Our team provides a significant level of due diligence both on the asset package and the valuation. The asset package due diligence may be provided by external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), if warranted. This multi-level due diligence gives our clients the comfort that their asset is being fully scrutinized for viability and valuation, and is given the best chance to stand up to negotiations or IRS audit review, if needed.
Rogers DVS brings this same level of expertise to bear on engagements where the client needs assistance in pricing their technology. We can assist in determining the appropriate price for licensing negotiations and also assist in determining the appropriate mix of compensation (i.e., lump sum, reasonable royalty, per unit royalty, etc.).
Rogers DVS does not provide attest services; so, Rogers DVS is a ‘no threat’ valuation firm in those instances where a client’s auditor is requiring an independent assessment of value for financial reporting purposes.
